Belarus, Cuba to outline new cooperation areas

HAVANA, 25 June (BelTA) – Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko who arrived in the Republic of Cuba on 24 June is expected to meet with Chairman of the State Council and the Council of Ministers of Cuba Raul Castro Ruz, BelTA learnt from the presidential press service.

The sides are set to discuss Belarus-Cuba bilateral relations, outline new promising areas of cooperation. Belarus is ready to supply Cuba with agricultural, construction and other vehicles and equipment, open maintenance centers, take part in Cuban infrastructure projects, modernization of oil refineries and power system, designing and construction, geologic exploration. Belarus is also interested in sci-tech cooperation.

Alexander Lukashenko is expected to lay a wreath at the Monument to Cuban National Hero Jose Marti.

Besides, the Belarusian delegation will hold a number of meetings. A package of documents is to be signed between the two countries to open up new opportunities for beneficial cooperation.
