Cooperation agreement between Parliaments of Belarus and Moldova signed in Minsk

MINSK, 25 June (BelTA) - Cooperation agreement between the National Assembly of Belarus and the Parliament of Moldova was signed in Minsk by Chairman of the Council of the Republic Anatoly Rubinov, Chairman of the House of Representatives Vladimir Andreichenko and Chairman of Moldovan Parliament Marian Lupu, BelTA has learnt.

This document primarily implies greater cooperation between the parliaments of the two countries and making it more vibrant, Anatoly Rubinov told reporters. “By signing this agreement, we have demonstrated that our countries intend to develop and intensify cooperation in all areas,” he said.

According to Marian Lupu, the interaction between Belarus and Moldova has always been at a high level. Certainly, he said, there is a good potential for further collaboration both within the framework of political dialogue and also trade and economic cooperation.

He stressed that inter-parliamentary relations between the two countries have been vibrant in recent years. “We both understand the significance of the parliamentary cooperation which has its potential. Parliamentary mutual understanding is a good platform for making the relations between the countries more efficient,” Marian Lupu said.

Vladimir Andreichenko, for his part, emphasized that cooperation between MPs goes far beyond lawmaking. Special attention is attached to culture, social security, trade and economic cooperation. Today Moldova is interested in supplies of Belarusian equipment, development of assembling plants. The countries are also keen on interregional cooperation.

According to Vladimir Andreichenko, the signing of this agreement will give a new impetus both to parliamentary and economic cooperation between the two countries.
