Belarus’ transit opportunities showcased in Paris

MINSK, 28 March (BelTA) – An international transport and logistics week SITL is taking place in Paris on 27-30 March. Representatives of Belarusian Railways and the Transport and Communications Ministry are taking part in the event. As part of the event Belarus’ transit opportunities facilitated by railway and other kinds of transport are highlighted, the press service of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry told BelTA.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to France Alexander Pavlovsky visited the Belarusian booth. The meeting with representatives of Belarusian agencies touched upon ways to use Belarus’ transit opportunities and the development of technical cooperation and manufacturing cooperation with French companies.
The Foreign Ministry also said that Belgrade is hosting the 50th international specialized transport expo Beotruck on 27-31 March. A delegation of Minsk Automobile Plant (MAZ trademark) is taking part in the event.
Minister of Economy and Regional Development Nebojsa Ciric visited the Belarusian booth at the expo. A brief talk between the Minister and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Serbia Vladimir Chushev touched upon state support for the assembly of Belarusian buses in Serbia and the implementation of a project to assemble gas-burning engine trucks.
Representatives of Minsk Automobile Plant met with top executives of Belgrade’s municipal and transport enterprises. The negotiations touched upon possibilities of increasing supplies of MAZ products, partially thanks to the resumption of truck export, and prospects of penetrating markets of neighboring countries (Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia) via Serbian dealers.
