Kazakhstan Ambassador advises against accelerating Eurasian Economic Union creation

MINSK, 28 March (BelTA) – Kazakhstan is in favor of not accelerating the creation of the Eurasian Economic Union. Instead one should adapt to conditions of the Single Economic Space, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kazakhstan to Belarus Ergaly Bolegenov told a press conference held on 28 March to discuss Nursultan Nazarbayev ‘s address “Social and economic modernization as the key vector of Kazakhstan’s development”.
An agreement was made earlier that the treaty on creating the Eurasian Economic Union will be signed by 1 January 2015, said Ergaly Bolegenov. “Kazakhstan believes there is no need to hurry the process. One should get adapted to the Single Economic Space. Interests of all the participants of the Eurasian Economic Union should be taken care of,” he said. The Ambassador added that 17 agreements had come into force and 50 more documents were being prepared for signing.
