MINSK, 28 March (BelTA) – Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev plans to visit Belarus this year, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kazakhstan to Belarus Yergali Bulegenov told a press conference held on 28 March to discuss Nursultan Nazarbayev ‘s address “Social and economic modernization as the key vector of Kazakhstan’s development”.

“They are working on the possibility of the President of Kazakhstan coming to Belarus on an official visit. The precise date of the visit is not yet known,” said the diplomat.

Asked about a reciprocal visit of the Belarusian head of state to Kazakhstan, the Ambassador said: “If we plan Nursultan Nazarbayev’s visit this year, it is understandable a reciprocal visit will not likely happen within such a short time”.

The diplomat said other Belarusian delegations may visit Kazakhstan this year. In particular, a session of the Belarusian-Kazakh intergovernmental commission for trade and economic cooperation is scheduled for autumn. Preparations are underway.

Other visits will be organized in view of tight cooperation between regions of Belarus and Kazakhstan.
