Savinykh: EU Ambassadors have not been declared personas non grata in Belarus
MINSK, 26 March (BelTA) – Belarus has not declared the EU Ambassadors personas non grata but believes their return is untimely, Spokesman for the Belarusian Foreign Ministry Andrei Savinykh told media while commenting on the recent Euronews report.
“This is an absolute distortion of facts and the wrong interpretation of the situation. The EU countries recalled their ambassadors in Belarus on their own initiative. Keeping in mind the EU decision the return of ambassadors is seen as untimely,” Andrei Savinykh said.
“As soon as the European Union finds a way to a constructive dialogue, the EU Ambassadors will be welcomed back in Minsk to perform their diplomatic duties, i.e. promote strengthening of neighborly relations between our countries,” the official added.
