Belarus, Moldova to update inter-parliamentary cooperation agreement

CHISINAU, 21 March (BelTA) – The issues of updating Belarus-Moldova inter-parliamentary cooperation agreement were discussed during a meeting between Acting President, Chairman of the Parliament of Moldova Marian Lupu and a delegation of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus. The delegation includes Chairman of the Permanent Commission for International Affairs and Links with the CIS of the House of Representatives Vitaly Busko and member of the Permanent Commission for Education, Culture, Science and Sci-Tech Progress of the House of Representatives Alexander Losyakin, BelTA learnt from the Embassy of Belarus in Moldova.

Marian Lupu supported the idea to update the Belarus-Moldova inter-parliamentary cooperation agreement signed in 2003 taking into account the realities of bilateral inter-parliamentary cooperation and cooperation in the international organizations. Marian Lupu affirmed that Belarus-Moldova cooperation is on a high level and that the countries have good prospects for further development of cooperation in different areas.

The Acting President of Moldova said that Belarus and Moldova should step up the inter-parliamentary dialogue. Marian Lupu also confirmed the readiness to exchange visits of the chairmen of parliaments, heads of relevant commissions and Belarus-Moldova friendship parliamentary groups.

The Belarusian delegation informed about the meetings with the heads of relevant commissions, parliamentary groups and members of the Belarus friendship group of the Moldovan Parliament.
