Lukashenko: IIHF World Championship relocation will damage the Federation’s image
MINSK, 21 March (BelTA) – The relocation of the 2014 IIHF World Championship from Minsk will be a big blow to the Federation’s image, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko said in an interview to the TV company Russia Today on 20 March.
“These are purely politicized moves and they have nothing to do with sport. If it happens this way, it will make a big blow to the image of the International Ice Hockey Federation. Belarus deserves to host this championship,” Alexander Lukashenko said.
