Lukashenko to attend session of EurAsEC Interstate Council in Moscow

MOSCOW, 19 March (BelTA) - President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko will take part in a meeting of the Interstate Council of the Eurasian Economic Community in Moscow on 19 March.

The Presidents are set to discuss further cooperation of the EurAsEC member states in the context of the development of the single economic space of Belarus, Russia and Kazakhstan.

As reported, there are plans to reorganize the Eurasian Economic Community, which includes Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, into a new integration association. Decision on the basic principles of the draft treaty can be adopted at the forthcoming meeting of the heads of the EurAsEC countries. It is expected that attending the summit will also be the leaders of the observer states at the community - Armenia, Moldova and Ukraine.

The summit will examine the work of the Eurasian Economic Commission.
