Belarus, Kazakhstan, Russia against economic pressure

MINSK, 11 March (BelTA) – The Governments of the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation affirm inadmissibility of using measures of economic pressure or enforcement, runs a joint governmental statement of the three countries which text has been posted on the official website of the Belarusian government.

“Acting in the spirit of the global approach coordinated by the Presidents of the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation and taking into account repeated statements of the US and the European Union on a possible application of economic restrictions towards one of the Customs Union/Single Economic Space member states, the Governments of the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation affirm inadmissibility of using measures of economic pressure or enforcement,” the joint statement says.

Measures of the kind create artificial barriers in trade, groundless obstacles to economic cooperation in the Customs Union/Single Economic Space, infringe legal interests of the economic security. The abovementioned could damage productive mutually beneficial cooperation, integration development on the Eurasian continent. It will bring only negative consequences, first of all, for ordinary people.

The Governments of the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation are absolutely sure that only equal and legitimate dialogue can help regulate international disagreements, and speak against any actions hampering this dialogue.
