Days of Business Cooperation with Russia, Ukraine open in Minsk

MINSK, 15 May (BelTA) – The Days of Business Cooperation with Russian and Ukrainian companies opened in Minsk on 15 May. The event is held within the framework of the visit of representatives of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Russia and Ukraine to Belarus.

“The Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Belarus, Russia and Ukraine share not only many-year agreements but also strong friendships, and this undoubtedly contributes to even closer cooperation of business communities of the three countries. It is gratifying to note that not only the Central Office of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) but all its regional offices collaborate closely with Russian and Ukrainian colleagues, the BCCI Deputy Chairman Vladimir Ulakhovich said at the opening of the Days of Business Cooperation.

In turn, the Director of the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry Yuri Azarov said that this cooperation is relevant to all chambers of commerce and industry, because the interaction between the countries, particularly at the level of small and medium-sized businesses, is an essential tool for the development of economies and industries. “The Chambers of Commerce of Minsk, Kiev, Moscow and Astana have very strong ties and relations. Heads of CCIs meet on a regular basis. At the last meeting in Moscow, it was decided that the Russian capital, and later other capitals of our states will host the first forum of young entrepreneurs. This will strengthen our cooperation at this level as well,” as well,” Yuri Azarov said.

Minister-Counsellor of the Embassy of Ukraine to Belarus Alexander Sosyura said that these contacts will always be relevant to the economies of the three countries, and such meetings give a strong impetus for further development. “The economies of Belarus, Ukraine and Russia are interconnected and the cooperation potential should not be underestimated,” the diplomat believes.

The delegation included representatives of the Lugansk regional chamber of commerce and industry from Ukraine and the Yaroslavl oblast, Novosibirsk, Leningrad, Moscow and Smolensk chambers of commerce and industry of Russia. Partaking in the meeting were top executives of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, representatives of the embassies of Russia and Ukraine in Belarus, the Minsk oblast executive committee and the FEZ Minsk Administration.

Thirteen Ukrainian and Russian companies partook in a business matchmaking session. Among them were Gavrilov-Yamsky Engineering Plant Agat (Russia, Yaroslavl Oblast), Stanki RTM (Russia, Novosibirsk), Ukrzheldorprom (Ukraine, Lugansk Oblast), Alchevsk Coking Plant (Ukraine, Lugansk Oblast), Teplokontrol (Russia, Smolensk Oblast).

Businessmen of the three countries talked over investment in joint projects, innovative energy saving heating systems, equipment for the mining industry, furniture for educational and medical institutions, associated parts for motor and air-engines, solar panels, light emitting diodes. Russian and Ukrainian companies showed interest to implement joint projects with Belarusian partners, supply the Belarusian market.
