Belarus still willing to sell MTS

MINSK, 31 May (BelTA) – Belarus does nto give on the idea to sell a government-owned stake in MTS, Vice Premier of Belarus Anatoly Kalinin told reporters.

“The issue is still on the agenda. We are waiting for the buyers, for the good price,” Anatoly Kalinin said.

According to him, the deal to sell the stake in MTS is the issue of supply and demand, the issue of the good price acceptable to both parties. “Why do we need to sell MTS at half price,” Anatoly Kalinin said. You would not like to sell your property or an apartment at half the price, would you?” Anatoly Kalinin said addressing reporters. Belarus is waiting for a good buyer, an attractive offer. Once it is made, experts are ready to sit down to the negotiating table.

When asked what format the negotiations and sales need to be, Anatoly Kalinin noted that it can be a tender or direct negotiations. “If an investor agrees with the price, why not engaged in direct negotiations with him? The price/offer correlation will be at the forefront here,” he added.
