Union State electric energy balance for 2013 to be adopted in December

MINSK, 30 November (BelTA) – The Union State electric energy balance for 2013 has been agreed and will be signed in December, Deputy Energy Minister of Belarus Mikhail Mikhadyuk told MPs on 30 November, BelTA has learnt.

“The balance has been agreed, we are to sign agreements for the next year,” the Deputy Minister said. He noted that Russia’s electric energy is to make about 5 billion kWh. The electric energy from Russia will be bought taking into consideration economic sense.

In October 2012 Energy Minister of Belarus Alexander Ozerets informed that the country might import 5 billion kWh of Russia’s electric energy in 2013, of which 3 billion kWh of electric energy will be guaranteed supplies and 2 kWh will be imported if needed. Belarus considers electric energy imports from Ukraine, the Energy Minister said. Apart from that, Alexander Ozerets noted that in 2012 Belarus’ electric energy imports are to total 7 billion kWh, 5 kWh of which will be imported from Russia.
