Mezhuyev elected chairman of CSTO PA commission for socio-economic and legal affairs

MINSK, 23 November (BelTA) – The Chairman of the permanent commission for national security of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus Mr Alexander BelTA learnt from the CSTO PA.

Belarus’ parliamentary delegation led by Chairman of the Council of the Republic Anatoly Rubinov is attending inter-parliamentary activities in St. Petersburg on 22-23 November.

The meeting of the CSTO PA permanent commission for socio-economic and legal affairs which elected Alexander Mezhuyev its chairman reviewed the status of implementation of the CSTO PA program of activities on harmonization of the national legislations of the CSTO member states for 2011-2015. The commission members discussed integration of international humanitarian law in the legislation of the CSTO member states and considered a number of other issues concerning the activities of the organization.

Belarusian MPs also attended meetings of the CSTO PA permanent commissions for defense and security headed by Anatoly Vyborny, a member of the State Duma of Russia. Akhan Bizhanov, a member of the Senate of the Parliament of Kazakhstan, was elected chairman of the CSTO PA permanent commission for political affairs and international cooperation.

On 22 November representatives of the parliamentary delegation of Belarus attended the meetings of the Council of the CIS Inter-Parliamentary Assembly and the Council of CSTO Parliamentary Assembly.

On 23 November the Belarusian MPS will attend the CIS IPA 38th plenary meeting and the international conference “The World of Chingiz Aitmatov: Integration and Dialogue of Cultures.”
