SES businessmen to meet in Minsk in 2013

MINSK, 6 November (BelTA) – In spring 2013 Minsk will play host to the Business Area 2013 Congress which is to gather businessmen from the Single Economic Space member states, BelTA learnt from Chairman of the Council of Young Scientists of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Vladimir Kazbanov who is taking part in the youth innovation forum Science and Business.

The Business Congress will welcome distinguished businessmen of Russia and Kazakhstan, representatives of small and medium-sized business. The forum will consist of three blocks: educational, scientific and investment. Apart from new scientific ideas, young scientists will learn how to present and implement an innovative project at the territory of the Single Economic Space, what opportunities and restrictions exist for project developers. The last day of the Congress will be dedicated to the presentation of the most promising projects of young scientists. Businessmen that are to partake in the event are expected to be investors of the most interesting projects.

The organizers of the business congress are the Council of Young Scientists of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and the Minsk Technopark.

The second edition of the Youth Innovation Forum “Science and Business 2012” opened in Minsk on 6 November. One of its main goals is to teach young scientists to present their R&D projects, their economic viability.

The youth investment forum is expected to raise the subject of projects associated with high investment risks. "We need to change the mindset of people. Today risky projects that do not give short-term returns are becoming more popular today,” said the chairman of the Council of Young Scientists.

Attending the forum are over 150 scientists from 11 countries: Belarus, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine and Uzbekistan.

The forum focuses primarily on applied projects and specific R&D projects. An exhibition has been organized to showcase scientific achievements and innovative projects.
