Sergei Lavrov: Belarus, Russia improve joint defense plans continuously

MINSK, 30 October (BelTA) – Russia and Belarus improve and update joint defense plans continuously, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov told media in Minsk on 30 October.

In particular, the Minister was asked about the creation of a joint missile defense system. “We enjoy allied relations with the Republic of Belarus not only in the context of our membership in the Collective Security Treaty Organization but the Union State [of Belarus and Russia], too. We have a high-level group on defense industries. Its session took place in Minsk a while ago,” said Sergei Lavrov. “As part of these processes our joint defense plans get constantly improved and updated, including the one you have mentioned”.
