CSTO military and economic commission to sit in Astana 1 November

MOSCOW, 29 October (BelTA) – The 10th meeting of the Interstate Commission on Military and Economic Cooperation of the Collective Security Treaty Organization will take place in Astana on 1 November, BelTA learnt from CSTO spokesman Vladimir Zainetdinov.

On 30-31 October the capital of Kazakhstan will host a meeting between the members of the working group of experts under the CSTO Interstate Commission on Military and Economic Cooperation and heads of the national parts of the Business Council of the Interstate Commission on Military and Economic Cooperation for coordination of documents regarding the issues included into the commission’s agenda.

The CSTO Secretariat took note of the importance to strengthen international cooperation in the military and economic area as an instrument of high-tech development of the CSTO defense and industrial complexes, prepare the military and economic cooperation program through 2015 and improve the mechanism of military product supplies.

“Attention is focused on the role of standardization in the defense industry for securing competitive ability of the military industry in the CSTO and enhancement of the activity of the Business Council under the Interstate Commission on Military and Economic Cooperation,” Vladimir Zainetdinov said.
