House of Representatives to elect chairman 18 October
MINSK, 17 October (BelTA) - The newly-elected House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus of the fifth convocation will gather for its first meeting of the first session on 18 October and will elect chairman and his deputies, BelTA learnt from the press service of the House of Representatives
The meeting will be attended by a delegation of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation. The parliamentary delegation is expected to arrive in Minsk in the evening on 17 October. It will be headed by First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Ivan Melnikov.
As was reported, 109 deputies were elected to the House of Representatives in the parliamentary elections in September this year. Among them, only 18% of MPs were part of the parliament of the fourth convocation.
