UN Secretary General shows interest in Belarus’ proposals

MINSK, 8 October (BelTA) – Belarus put forward a number of proposals which were found interesting by the UN Secretary General, Foreign Minister of Belarus Vladimir Makei said as he commented on the results of his participation in the first ministerial meeting of the Forum of Small States.

In his words, implementation of these proposals will expand Belarus’ contribution to the UN activity. “Belarus’ recent work was remarkable,” the minister believes. Belarus is an author and co-author of many initiatives and resolutions that have been developed and advanced in the UN General Assembly.

Besides, an agreement has been reached during Vladimir Makei’s trip to pave the way for the visit of the head of state to the countries with which Belarus has great prospects. “We have discussed the current bilateral relations with the representatives of the European countries and the U.S. as well as the ways to improve them,” Vladimir Makei stressed.
