Lukashenko sends National Day greetings to China

MINSK, 1 October (BelTA) – Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko congratulated Chairman of the People’s Republic of China Hu Jintao on National Day, BelTA learnt from the presidential press service.

The message of congratulations says that Belarus is sincerely happy for China’s growth in the international arena and the impressing gains by the Chinese people.

Alexander Lukashenko expressed confidence that the decisions that are to be taken at the forthcoming 18th Congress of the Communist Party of China will let outline new ambitious goals for the country’s development and enhancement of wellbeing of the Chinese people for the next five years. The President of Belarus wished the congress successful and fruitful work.

The head of state thanked Hu Jintao for his considerable contribution to strengthening Belarusian-Chinese relations and assured that cooperation with China would stay among Belarus’ priorities in its foreign policy.

The Belarusian leader emphasized: “We are especially grateful to brotherly China for its true support of Belarus’ course on consolidating its sovereignty, highly value our strategic partnership based on mutual trust, sincere respect and interest in each other.”
