CEC plans to announce final results of Belarus’ elections on 28 September

MINSK, 26 September (BelTA) – The final results of the elections to the National Assembly of Belarus will be announced around 28 September at a session of the Central Election Commission of Belarus (CEC), BelTA learnt from Secretary of the Central Election Commission Nikolai Lozovik.

The final results of the parliamentary elections in Belarus will be announced after district election commissions submit protocols of the elections to the House of Representatives and presidiums of regional councils of deputies and the Minsk City Council of Deputies submit documents on the results of the elections to the Council of the Republic.

“Everything depends on how fast we will handle them. The CEC is very likely to announce the final results of the elections to the Council of the Republic on 28 September. Simultaneously the final results of the elections to the House of Representatives will be announced,” Nikolai Lozovik said.

Speaking about the results of the elections to the upper house of the parliament, the CEC Secretary noted that the CEC had already checked the documents during the nomination of candidates to the Council of the Republic.

All the candidates nominated in all the oblasts and the city of Minsk were registered. “Now taking into consideration protocols of sessions of grass-route councils of deputies, we will sum everything up. As far as we know, on 25 September the elections of senators in all the regions and the city of Minsk were held in compliance with the law,” the CEC Secretary said.

Nikolai Lozovik added that the Central Election Commission is processing complaints filed on election day. “The work is in full swing; all the employees of the Central Election Commission are involved. District election commissions are reviewing the complaints, too. The complaints filed within three days after the elections will be handled,” Nikolai Lozovik said.
