Minsk Oblast, Guangdong sign memorandum of cooperation

MINSK, 21 September (BelTA) – Minsk Oblast Executive Committee and the People’s Government of the Province of Guangdong (the People’s Republic of China) signed a memorandum of cooperation on 20 September, BelTA has learnt.

Minsk Oblast Governor Boris Batura expressed confidence that the memorandum would add a boost to bilateral cooperation. “Minsk Oblast is open to China’s investment and proposals. The two sides should take concrete steps in intensifying mutual relations,” he said at the meeting with the Chinese delegation.

Guangdong Governor Zhu Xiaodan suggested focusing first of all on the all-round development of the Chinese-Belarusian Industrial Park projects. Taking note of Minsk Oblast rich potential in various areas, the head of the delegation stressed that both the sides would benefit from mutual investment. In particular, the Chinese province showed interest in building agricultural facilities in Minsk Oblast.

The Chinese official invited Minsk Oblast Governor Boris Batura to partake in the Guangdong Week of International Cooperation scheduled for November 2012. He suggested the Province of Guangdong and Minsk Oblast sign an agreement on cooperation between during the Week.

The inclusion of the presentation of the Chinese-Belarusian Industrial Park into the program of the Guangdong Week has been also among the proposals voiced by the Chinese delegation.
