5.6% of Belarusians living abroad take part in elections on first early voting day

MINSK, 19 September (BelTA) – Some 5.6% of Belarusian nationals living abroad and included in voter lists have already cast their ballots on the first day of the early voting period at the parliamentary elections of Belarus, BelTA learnt from the Central Election Commission.

Belarusian nationals are able to vote at 43 polling stations arranged at Belarusian diplomatic and consular institutions abroad. Polling stations were formed in 32 countries.

The voting lists include Belarusian citizens who officially reside in a foreign state and citizens who are on a long-term business trip.

The voting lists might include Belarusian nationals who came to a foreign country for business, vocations or private purposes. They will be included in the voter lists upon presentation of identification documents and documents confirming the Belarusian citizenship.

Belarusian nationals who will not be able to cast their ballots on election day on 23 September are invited to come to a polling station from 18 to 22 September.
