Belarus to partake in EXPO 2015 in Milan

MINSK, 18 September (BelTA) – Belarus’ national exposition will be presented at the EXPO 2015 in Milan, Italy. The decision is stipulated in Council of Ministers’ Resolution No.847 of 14 September 2012, BelTA learnt from the press service of the Belarusian government.

The national operator at the expo will be private company Belinterexpo of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry that is to coordinated cooperation with the EXPO 2015 organizers.

The World Fair EXPO is an international exposition, a symbol of industrialization and an open platform to display technical and technological achievements. The first World Expo took place in the Crystal Palace in Hyde Park, London. EXPO 2012 was held in South Korea. The exposition will travel to Milan, Italy in 2015 and Astana, Kazakhstan in 2017. Ayutthaya (Thailand), Dubai (UAE), Izmir (Turkey), San Paulo (Brazil) and Yekaterinburg (Russia) will compete for the right to host the exhibition in 2020.
