Over 120 businessmen partake in Belarus’ Business Day in Brno

MINSK, 18 September (BelTA) – Over 120 businessmen of Belarus and the Czech Republic, representatives of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, diplomats and media took part in Belarus’ Business Day held as part of the 54th International Engineering Fair MSV 2012 in Brno, BelTA learnt from the Embassy of Belarus in the Czech Republic.

The event was organized by the Belarusian embassy in the Czech Republic jointly with the Czech commerce chamber on cooperation with the CIS countries.

Welcoming speeches were given by Deputy Industry and Trade Minister of the Czech Republic Milan Hovorka, Chairman of the board of the Czech commerce chamber on cooperation with the CIS countries Vaclav Petricek who praised the level of bilateral economic cooperation between the two countries. Deputy Industry Minister Vitaly Prima and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to the Czech Republic Vasily Markovich took the floor on Belarus’ behalf.

Belarus’ business presentations were followed by bilateral negotiations that ended up with a number of agreements in the industrial, engineering, energy, infrastructure development and other areas.

Negotiations touched upon a wide range of issues regarding bilateral cooperation. Close attention was paid to new joint investment projects in the engineering and machine-tool industries, participation of Czech companies in Belarus’ industrial development program through 2020.

Besides, the Belarusian delegation visited Czech companies Alta and Smeral Brno to discuss their possible participation in the Belarusian upgrade projects.

MSV expo is an annual event in Brno. This year Belarus has been presented at the expo by Belarusian Autoworks, Kuzlitmash, Vistan, Orsha Instrument Plant, Masherov Automatic Lines Plant of Minsk, Baranovichi Machine Tool Plant, Belarusian Steel Works, Atlant Inc. (Baranovichi Machine Tool Plant), Mogilev Steel Plant.
