PM: 2013 budget provides for appropriations for debt service payments

MINSK, 14 September (BelTA) – The 2013 budget provides for the necessary appropriations to repay and service the external public debt, Prime Minister of Belarus Mikhail Myasnikovich told a press conference on 14 September, BelTA has learnt.

The head of government noted that the country will have to repay $3.1 billion, of which $2.3 is the principal debt and $0.8 billion is loan service. The sum is big, the Premier underlined. Apart from that, there are liabilities of banks to pay.

Mikhail Myasnikovich noted that Belarus has the necessary resources to repay and service the external public debt. “It is very hard, but we are not jeopardizing economic security while repaying the debt,” the Belarusian head of government said.
