Belarus opens 43 polling stations abroad

MINSK, 13 September (BelTA) – Belarusian nationals will be able to cast their ballots at 43 polling stations arranged at Belarusian diplomatic and consular institutions abroad, Spokesman for the Foreign Ministry of Belarus Andrei Savinykh told reporters on 13 September.

Polling stations have been formed in 32 countries, including Azerbaijan and Armenia where they have opened for the first time. There are three polling stations at new diplomatic missions that opened last year and this year, including consulates general in Munich and Istanbul and an embassy office of Belarus in Rostov-on-Don. According to Andrei Savinykh, the polling stations formed outside Belarus are assigned to Kupala electoral district No. 95 in Minsk.

The voting will be held from 8:00 to 20:00 local time on the election day. Belarusian nationals who will not be able to cast their ballots on the election day are invited to come to a polling station from 18 to 22 September.

Andrei Savinykh underlined that the voting lists include Belarusian citizens who officially reside in a foreign state and citizens who are on a long-term business trip. The voting lists might include Belarusian nationals who came to a foreign country for business, vocations or private purposes. They will be included in the voter lists upon presentation of identification documents and documents confirming the Belarusian citizenship.
