364 candidates vying for seats in 110-member parliament in Belarus

MINSK, 11 September (BelTA) - As of today, the CEC has registered 364 candidates to the House of Representatives of the Belarusian National Assembly of the fifth convocation, Lidia Yermoshina, the chairperson of the Central Election Commission (CEC), told a press conference.

“This is the data at the moment. It is not excluded that it will change,” she said.

According to Lidia Yermoshina, 494 candidates have been nominated. Nine applications were withdrawn before registration. 122 candidates were denied registration. The decision regarding one candidate was revoked by the district commission after registration. Ten more withdrew their candidatures. Eleven candidates were registered after the CEC reviewed their complaints against the decision to deny them registration. One candidate to the House of Representatives was registered by the Supreme Court.
