Cooperation agreements signed at Ostrovets economic forum

GRODNO, 10 September (BelTA) – Two agreements on cooperation were signed at the regional trade fair “Northern Vector of Grodno Oblast 2012” and the international economic forum “New Opportunities and Cooperation Prospects” in Ostrovets on 8 September, BelTA learnt from the economy department of the Ostrovets district executive committee.

Every year the exhibition fair and the international economic forum make a good platform for establishing contacts, signing agreements. This year has been no exception.

The Ostrovets district executive committee and the Sosnovy Bor municipal district, Leningrad Oblast, the Russian Federation, signed an agreement on establishing twin-town relations. The Ostrovets district executive committee also signed an agreement on cooperation with the specific capital management fund of the Russian-Belarusian cooperation Belye Rosy in Saint Petersburg.

Chairman of the Oshmyany district executive committee Yuri Adamchik inked a protocol of intent to sign an agreement on cooperation with Mayor of Birstonas (the Republic of Lithuania) Nijole Dirginciene.

Chairman of the Smorgon district executive committee Mechislav Goi signed protocols of intent with the heads of two foreign companies – Austria’s Kronospan and Belagroterminal (Russia, the Netherlands).

The Grodno region has hosted Northern Vector of Grodno Oblast 2012 exhibition and the international economic forum for the third time. Partaking in it were nearly 80 regional producers, representatives of banks, big, small and medium-sized business, diplomats from Belarus, Russia, Lithuania, Poland and Slovakia. The exhibition and the forum gathered about 150 participants.
