Belarus interested in closer ties with Israel

MINSK, 4 September (BelTA) – Belarus would like to have more vigorous cooperation with Israel, Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Mikhail Rusy said as he opened the third session of the Belarus-Israel intergovernmental committee on trade and economic cooperation on 4 September, BelTA has learnt.

The Vice Premier noted that the relations between the two countries are based on friendship and mutual understanding; there are many promising cooperation avenues. Belarus would like to establish more dynamic cooperation in real estate and high technologies with Israel.

According to Mikhail Rusy, the bilateral cooperation is gaining momentum. Belarusian manufacturers are interested in the Israeli market of agricultural products, machines and other commodities.

Tourism Minister of Israel Stas Misezhnikov noted that in recent years the relations between the two countries have made much progress. “The bilateral trade expands year to year, however there is room for growth,” the minister said. In his words, Belarus and Israel have achieved a lot working together and many achievements are still ahead.

The session of the Belarus-Israel intergovernmental committee on trade and economic cooperation discusses new investment projects and ways to expand cooperation in agriculture. Taking part in the session is the Israeli delegation led by Tourism Minister, co-chair of the committee Stas Misezhnikov.
