Belarus may pay official visit to Nicaragua soon

MOSCOW, 30 April (BelTA) – A visit of an official Belarusian delegation to Nicaragua may take place in the near future. The issue was discussed by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Russia Igor Petrishenko and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Nicaragua to the Russian Federation Luis Alberto Molina Cuadra in Moscow on 30 April, BelTA learnt from the press service of the Belarusian diplomatic mission.

“The parties agreed that the forthcoming official talks will give considerable impetus to the further development of Belarusian-Nicaraguan cooperation, especially in trade and economy, and will allow taking practical steps to strengthen the legal framework of bilateral relations,” the Embassy said.

Diplomatic relations between Belarus and Nicaragua were established in May 1994. In 2012 the bilateral trade totaled $4 million. Belarusian export to Nicaragua made up $3.9 million, import was $0.1 million.
