Belarus names 49 key investment projects for 2013

MINSK, 26 April (BelTA) – A list of 49 most important investment projects for 2013 has been approved in Belarus. The decision is contained in Council of Ministers’ Resolution No.310 of 24 April 2013, BelTA learnt from the press service of the Belarusian government.

Almost Br9 trillion in domestic and foreign investments will be required to implement all 49 projects. Domestic investment will be provided at the total amount of Br7.452 trillion, including over Br5.7 trillion of loan resources. The rest, Br1.543 trillion, will be foreign investments.

Among the principal investment projects under the supervision of the Industry Ministry is the construction of additional capacities and an increase in the production and sales of dump trucks with 90-450t payload capacity by OAO BelAZ - the management company of BelAZ Holding. A total of Br205.9 billion in domestic investment and Br358 billion in foreign investment will be used for these purposes in 2013.

This year at estimated Br91.6 billion will be injected into the development of the production of high-precision high endurance iron casting at the Holding Company “Minsk Motor Plant”. The facility is due to come on stream in 2017.

Belarusian Steel Works – the management of the holding company "Belarusian Steel Company" is in the middle of the project to build a rolled wire mill. The volume of funding in 2013 is estimated at Br2.1 trillion of proprietary and borrowed funds.

The Belarusian Railways requires Br2.572trillion to upgrade the rolling stock this year.

Big investment projects will be implemented in other industries in 2013.

The Vice Prime Ministers of Belarus have been charged with supervising the course of implementation of the resolution. Representatives from among the regional authorities, ministries, and concerns have been put in charge of the execution of projects as well. Regulations on compensating part of interest on the loans issued for investment projects in 2013 will be prepared and submitted to the government within two months.
