Proud relations between Belarus, Russia’s Yaroslavl Oblast

MINSK, 24 April (BelTA) – Yaroslavl Oblast takes pride in its tight relations with Belarus. The statement was made by Alexander Knyazkov, First Vice Governor of Yaroslavl Oblast, Chairman of the Yaroslavl Oblast Government, at the meeting with a Belarusian delegation on 24 April, BelTA has learned.

Alexander Knyazkov pointed out the relations are tightest between mechanical engineering companies of Belarus and Yaroslavl Oblast. He said that there are 36 joint ventures with a Belarusian share in the oblast now.

The First Vice Governor said he was confident that the visit of the Belarusian delegation will continue the development of the fruitful cooperation taking into account mutual interests.

The Belarusian delegation is led by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Russia Igor Petrishenko and First Deputy Industry Minister of Belarus Ivan Demidovich. The delegation includes representatives of top Belarusian companies, namely MAZ, BelAZ, Minsk Motor Plant, Gomselmash, Bobruiskagromash, Amkodor, and some others.

On 24 April representatives of Belarusian business circles are expected to hold a series of meetings with their Yaroslavl colleagues to discuss the production sector, agriculture, consumer market, housing and utilities industry, road industry, transport, and power engineering. They are expected to visit the Tutayev engine factory and OAO Avtodizel. On 25 April Igor Petrishenko and Ivan Demidovich are expected to meet with Yaroslavl Oblast Governor Sergei Yastrebov. Apart from that, the Ambassador of Belarus will visit the Belarusian culture center Maxim Bogdanovich Museum and will meet with representatives of the Yaroslavl public organization of Belarusians Syabroustva.

In 2012 trade between Belarus and Yaroslavl Oblast of Russia totaled $604.6 million, 56.9% up from 2011.
