Markovich: Economic modernization, IT, youth policy will help Belarus stay advanced

MINSK, 22 April (BelTA) – Modernization of the economy, IT penetration and support of the youth will help Belarus stay advanced, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to the Czech Republic Vasily Markovich told BelTA as he commented on the Belarus President’s State of the Nation Address.

“I am totally agreed that the triune goal of the modernization of the economy, IT penetration, support of the youth and large-scale involvement of young people in the state construction are the projects that will help our country stay among the highly developed countries and take its place in the international differentiation of labor,” the diplomat said.

However, according to Vasily Markovich, participation of every citizen of Belarus is needed in these projects in order to achieve these goals. “Only together we will be able to reach the goals the President set forth. Our strength is in the basic industries we have preserved and which make up a foundation for the rest of the country’s economy. We are able to provide ourselves with essential goods: food, clothes, dwelling. However, further growth of wellbeing of every individual depends on both the operational measures of the authorities and personal contribution of every member of our society in the implementation of the country’s development strategy.”
