NBRB: Belarus might get fifth tranche of EurAsEC loan in April

MINSK, 2 April (BelTA) – The National Bank of the Republic of Belarus (NBRB) believes that Belarus might receive $440 million as the fifth tranche of the loan of the EurAsEC Anti-Crisis Fund in April, Chairperson of the Board of the National Bank of Belarus Nadezhda Yermakova told reporters at the parliament on 2 April, BelTA has learnt.

The Council of Experts that provides recommendations for the Council of the EurAsEC Anti-Crisis Fund has not made a final decision yet. Belarus does not agree with the position of the Council of Experts. This position is not shared by some members of the Council of Experts, either, Nadezhda Yermakova said.

Finance Minister Andrei Kharkovets had announced earlier that Belarus might get $440 million as the fifth tranche of the EurAsEC Anti-Crisis Fund in April.

The EurAsEC Anticrisis Fund Council authorized the allocation of a $3 billion financial loan to Belarus on 4 June 2011. Taking into account the fourth tranche, a total of $2.12 billion has been transferred to Belarus so far with a view to maintaining the balance of payments and replenishing the international reserves. In 2013 Belarus expects to receive the fifth and sixth tranches of the loan to the tune of $440 million each. The decision on the fifth tranche is to be passed at a session of the Council of the EurAsEC Anti-Crisis Fund. The date of the session has not been announced yet.
