Lukashenko: Belarus has considerably enhanced its defense potential
MINSK, 29 April (BelTA) – Belarus has considerably enhanced its defense potential, said President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko during the state award ceremony on 29 April, BelTA has learned.
The awardees included a large number of army officers, whose service deserves merit. “As a result of your efforts Belarus has considerably improved its defense potential,” stressed the head of state. “The peace and wellbeing of our citizens, the sovereignty and independence of our country depend on the job of great importance that you do”.
Sonorous titles were bestowed upon people of culture on 29 April. “I should note that the sphere is actively developing in Belarus at present. Large-scale musical and theater art programs have been implemented. Major projects and international festivals have become part of the country’s cultural life. Many of you have raised an entire constellation of talented actors and performers,” stressed the President.
He pointed out the importance of holding the award ceremony on the eve of the 1 May celebration. Addressing the awardees, Alexander Lukashenko underlined: “Your experience and aptitude have enabled you to reach the peak of your professions and benefit the country in many areas”.
The awardees included representatives of various branches. Those are specialists of the production sector, civil engineering, the army, people of culture, science, and education, civil service workers, sportsmen. All of them are specialists of the highest rank, whose mastery and extraordinary personal qualities have earned respect. The laureates also included heads of major industrial enterprises, construction companies, and research groups. They were praised for the tangible achievements and successes in raising the manufacturing and innovative potential of Belarus.
