Belarus, World Tourism Organization to bolster cooperation

MINSK, 29 August (BelTA) – Cooperation prospects between Belarus and the World Tourism Organization were discussed in a meeting between Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to the Republic of South Africa Andrei Molchan and Secretary General of the World Tourism Organization Taleb Rifai, BelTA learnt from the press service of the Foreign Ministry of Belarus.

Andrei Molchan presented information on tourism development in Belarus, including achievements in the rural and cross-border tourism. The parties discussed the prospects of developing mutual relations.

Taleb Rifai showed interest in intensifying cooperation with Belarus as well as expressed readiness to provide technical assistance to the Belarusian tourism sector.

The talks took place as part of the 20th session of the General Assembly of the World Tourism Organization that was held in Victoria Falls (Zimbabwe) and Livingstone (Zambia) on 24-29 August.
