BankIT'2013 to bring together banks and IT companies from CIS, Europe

MINSK, 20 August (BelTA) - BankIT'2013, the international forum on bank information technologies, will bring together representatives of the banks and IT companies from the CIS and European countries. The 10th edition of the forum will be running in Minsk from 19 till 21 November, reads the website of the forum, BelTA informs.

BankIT is the largest platform in Belarus, and in the future possibly in the CIS and Europe, bringing together representatives of the banking sector and IT industry from different countries to discuss the development areas of banking information technologies. The organizers of the event are the National Bank of Belarus, the Infopark Association and the Association of Belarusian banks.

The number of participants increases every year. In 2012, the forum was attended by representatives of 1155 financial institutions, IT companies, government agencies and educational institutions from Belarus, Russia, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Poland, Armenia, Lithuania, Latvia, Germany, Belgium and the United Kingdom. In 2013 the forum is planning to invite more co-organizers and speakers from the central banks of the friendly countries and delegations from commercial banks.

The timeframe of this year’s BankIT edition will be extended up to three days. The venue for the event will be the President Hotel that will accommodate all guests.

The forum wil be focused on the modern trends in banking information technologies and divided thematically by days. The first day will be dedicated to the global trends of development of the banking business and their impact on banking IT. The theme of the second day will be "IT as a business-supporting function”, and the third day will discuss “IT as a business-forming feature". In this way, the organizing committee wants to emphasize the growing business-role of IT in the banking sector.

In terms of systems, particular attention will be paid to customer relationship management, virtualization, big data management, mobility, speeding up the service and other relevant areas.

Today the Belarusian banks are particularly interested in the introduction of the systems of customer relationship management (CRM). According to a study conducted by the Inforpartk Association absolutely all Belarusian banks are now becoming increasingly aware of the need for the use of these systems in the work and plan their implementation. Still relevant are the systems of remote banking service and information security systems. The banks are especially interested in data loss prevention software (DLP): around 65% of all banks of Belarus are planning to install this system in the near future.
