BOC to acquire oil terminals in Black Sea ports

MINSK, 13 August (BelTA) – ZAO Belarusian Oil Company (BOC) is considering building or acquiring oil terminals in the Black Sea ports, BelTA learned from BOC press liaison officer Andrei Sinitsa.

The BOC also confirmed the information published previously about its intent to acquire terminals in the ports of the Baltic Sea.

"The BOC intends to strengthen its position in the markets of the neighboring countries and to ensure the opportunities to expand sales. The final decision will be taken in consideration of economic feasibility,” the company noted.

As it was reported earlier, in an interview to the newspaper "Business&Baltia" Andrei Markushev, Chairman of the Board of the Latvian wholesale company OOO TransBaltic Oil, said that the Belarusian company is now deciding between Riga or Ventspils ports.

ZAO Belarusian Oil Company was established in May 2007. Shareholders of the company are Belarus’ largest enterprises engaged in oil production and oil refining. According to the company, it exports about 1 million tonnes of oil products per month.
