Belarus-Czech trade and economic cooperation discussed

MINSK, 8 February (BelTA) – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to the Czech Republic Vasily Markovich and Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic Milan Hovorka discussed the prospects of trade and economic cooperation between the two countries in a meeting on 7 February, BelTA learnt from the press service of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry.

The parties exchanged views on the status and prospects of development of trade and economic relations between Belarus and the Czech Republic. “The meeting participants praised the dynamism of economic interaction in 2012. The year witnessed the highest ever mutual trade and the biggest inflow of Czech investments in the Belarusian economy,” the Foreign Ministry said.

The meeting reviewed the status of implementation of the protocol of the 4th session of the Belarusian-Czech mixed commission on economic, industrial and technological cooperation. The parties noted the efficient work of the Belarusian-Czech working groups on cooperation in energy, agriculture and growing contacts between the business communities of the two countries. The parties also discussed preparations for the 5th meeting of the Belarusian-Czech mixed commission on economic, industrial and technological cooperation due in 2013.
