BelAZ to ship 60 rock haulers to UMMC in 2013

MINSK, 5 February (BelTA) – BelAZ will deliver 60 rock haulers with the capacity of 30 tonnes to 220 tonnes to Ural Mining and Metallurgical Company (UMMC) in 2013, BelTA learned from BelAZ.

The preliminary agreement to deliver a big batch of rock haulers was reached following the negotiations between Piotr Parkhomchik, Director General of BelAZ – the management company of BelAZ Holding, and his Russian colleagues.

Ural Mining and Metallurgical Company is an old and reliable partner of BelAZ. UMMC is a large producer of copper in Russia. It unites mining, metallurgical, metalworking plants and construction companies. The company includes Kuzbassrazrezugol Company located in Kemerovo Oblast which specializes in open-pit coal mining. Balance reserves of coal make up over 2 billion tonnes there. The region is a major exporter of Belarusian rock haulers.

According to BelAZ, in 2012 Russia accounted for more tan 60% of the company’s export. Last year BelAZ shipped quarry machines to 32 countries. Top trade partners of the Belarusian plant are Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, other CIS states. BelAZ also cooperates with Europe, Asia, America, Africa, Australia.

Founded in September 1948, the Zhodino-based mechanical engineering company Belarusian Autoworks (BelAZ) was incorporated into a joint-stock company in 2010. As of October 2012 OAO BelAZ is the management company of BelAZ Holding. BelAZ offers rock haulers, frontal wheeled loaders and bulldozers, tow trucks, special vehicles for underground operations, heavy-duty trucks for metallurgy industry, and other specialized vehicles. BelAZ accounts for a third of the global market of rock haulers and is a leading global supplier of quarry machines.
