Belarus’ honorary consulate opens in Krasnodar

MOSCOW, 4 February (BelTA) – The office of the Belarusian honorary consulate has opened in Krasnodar, BelTA learned from the Ministry of Strategic Development, Investments and External Economic Activity of Krasnodar Krai.

Partaking in the opening ceremony were representatives of the Russian Foreign Ministry, local executive and judicial authorities.

According to Honorary Consul of Belarus in Krasnodar Oleg Neverkevich, Belarus and Krasnodar Krai are old and reliable partners. In 2012 the bilateral trade between Belarus and Krasnodar Krai totalled $390 million making 11% of the entire trade of the region.

There are 11 joint ventures with the Belarusian capital in the region. The biggest companies are Kuban-Agro, Belaya Rus, Agrotekhinvest, Amkodor-Yug. The Krasnodar-based plant Sedin-Agro opened a joint venture with the Belarusian company Bobruiskagromash, there is an assembly factory and a service center for Polesye harvesters in Ust-Labinsk District. The Kuban Trading House opened in Minsk in June 2012.
