Japan thanks Belarus for assistance in Fukushima-1 accident management

MINSK, 28 February (BelTA) – The Belarusian-Japanese cooperation as well as promising areas in developing mutual relations were discussed in a meeting between Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Japan Sergei Rakhmanov and MPs of the lower house of the Parliament of Japan, members of the Association of Friendship and Parliamentary Relations with the Republic of Belarus, BelTA learnt from the Foreign Ministry of Belarus.

“The Japanese side expressed gratitude to Belarus for assistance in mitigating the impact of the accident at the nuclear power plant Fukushima-1 and confirmed its interest in strengthening bilateral cooperation,” stressed the Belarusian Foreign Ministry.
