Iranian investor plans to build housing in Belarus

MINSK, 28 January (BelTA) – Big Iranian company Tehran Housing Investment plans to implement a number of projects in the housing, utilities and industrial construction of Belarus, BelTA learnt from the State Science and Technology Committee (SSTC).

SSTC Chairman Igor Voitov met with head of Tehran Housing Investment Seyed Ahmad Moghimi on 28 January. The parties discussed sci-tech and investment cooperation, including investment in the housing, utilities and industrial construction, setting up joint companies. The company plans to implement projects in Belarus and also thinks of opening an assembly plant for Belarusian tower cranes and automatic loaders in Iran.

Tehran Housing Investment is a big player at the market of construction services in Iran. The company has been working hard to enter the markets of developing countries with its construction projects. The company also provides financial services. “The two countries have built a very good relationship, including at the highest level, and we hope very much that Tehran Housing Investment will get a foothold in the Belarusian market and will be working fruitfully in the interests of the two countries,” Mr Seyed Ahmad Moghimi said.

In turn, the Chairman of the State Science and Technology Committee Igor Voitov spoke on the most important projects of the government innovation development program of Belarus for 2011-2015, and the projects in which foreign companies can take part.

Tehran Housing Investment was founded in 1994, with the aim of developing the residential and administrative construction sector in Tehran and other major cities of the country. The company is one of the largest developers in the country, has an extensive experience in building houses, residential complexes and high-rise buildings, and trade-administrative complexes. The company has built bout 100,000 apartments, 14 business centers and more than 155 educational centers. The company is listed on the Iranian Stock Exchange.
