Belarus calls for peaceful resolution of Palestinian-Israeli conflict

MINSK, 17 January (BelTA) – Chairman of the Permanent Commission for International Affairs of the House of Representatives of Belarus Nikolai Samoseiko has met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Palestine to Belarus Khalid Arikat in the House of Representatives on 17 January, BelTA has learnt.

The meeting was held upon the initiative of the Palestinian diplomat.

Nikolai Samoseiko congratulated Palestine on receiving the observer status in the UN. The Belarusian MP noted that the both parties need to find a common ground that would help promote cooperation.

The MP informed the chief of the Palestinian diplomatic mission that Belarus is in favor of peaceful co-existence of the Israeli and Palestinian peoples. Belarus hopes that a mutually acceptable solution will be found. Belarus advocates peaceful settlement of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict via negotiations.

The Palestinian ambassador noted: “We would like to thank you for your constant support of our people. Our people appreciate it”.
