Belarus removes almost all restrictions on fish import

MINSK, 17 January (BelTA) – Belarus has removed virtually all restrictions on the import of fish. The decision was formalized by Decree No. 33 as of 16 January 2013. The decree was published on the website of the National Legal Internet Portal on 17 January, BelTA has learnt.

In line with the document, the state will preserve the exclusive right to import only fish processing products classified under Code 1604 of the commodity list of the Customs Union.

Importers of these products will be chosen via open contests held by a special inter-agency commission.

Decree No. 194 as of 21 April 2010 allowed free import of sea fish. The state had the exclusive right to import freshwater fish, fish processing products and sea food.
