Capital investment in Belarus up 8.8% in H1 2013

MINSK, 26 July (BelTA) – In H1 2013 the capital investment in Belarus totaled Br85.3 trillion in current prices, up 8.8% in comparable prices on the same months of 2012, BelTA learnt from the National Statistics Committee.

In January-June 2013, Br23.7 trillion was channeled into renovation and upgrade of existing facilities, or 116.3% as against the same period last year, or 27.8% of the total capital investment (the figure was 25.9% in H1 2012).

In H1 2013 Br43.4 trillion worth of installation and construction works were performed, up 2.8 % over the same period in 2012 in comparable prices. Installation and construction works accounted for 50.9% of the total capital investment.

The expenses on the purchase of machines, equipment and vehicles amounted to Br32.2 trillion, or 37.7% of the total capital investment and 113.2% as against the same months last year. The imported equipment accounted for 64.3% of total investments. Some 26.5% of foreign equipment was purchased on the territory of Belarus.

In January-June 2013 state-run companies utilized Br39.7 trillion in capital investment or 125.9% as against H1 2012.
