Polish MPs seek rapprochement with Belarus

MINSK, 25 July (BelTA) - Polish MPs would like to engage in a dialogue with Belarus and expand cooperation in economic and intercultural areas and border security. This statement was made at a session of the Poland-Belarus cooperation group in the Polish parliament. The session was attended by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Poland Viktor Gaisenok, BelTA learnt from the press service of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry.

The session was the first meeting of the Poland-Belarus cooperation group since its establishment in July 2013.

Viktor Gaisenok expressed hope that the group will carry out fruitful work in all areas of Belarus-Poland cooperation. The Belarusian diplomat emphasized the importance of the development of all-round bilateral cooperation, including in political and inter-parliamentary dimension.

The next session of the Belarus-Poland cooperation group will be held in September. It is expected that the session will discuss proposals of the Polish MPs concerning the development of the dialogue with Belarus.
