Belarus’ FM to attend Eastern Partnership meeting in Brussels

MINSK, 19 July (BelTA) - Belarusian Foreign Minister Vladimir Makei will participate in the meeting of foreign ministers of the member countries of the Eastern Partnership Initiative. The meeting is scheduled for 22 July in Brussels, Belgium, BelTA learnt from the Foreign Ministry of Belarus.

“This visit will take place on the invitation from Catherine Ashton, the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, and Stefan Fule, the European Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighborhood Policy,” Belarus’ Foreign Ministry noted.

The meeting participants will exchange views on the state and prospects of cooperation within the framework of EU’s Eastern Partnership. They are expected to discuss the preparation for the third Eastern Partnership summit due in Vilnius, Lithuania, on 28-29 November. Vladimir Makei is also set to meet with the EU officials and heads of delegations of several EU member states and partner countries.
