Over 1.3m people participate in Independence Day celebrations

MINSK, 4 July (BelTA) – More than 1.3 million people took part in the Independence Day celebrations all over Belarus on 3 July, BelTA learnt from the Interior Ministry of Belarus.

The major events took place in Minsk (in more than 20 places). A military parade on Masherov Avenue was held in the morning. It was attended by about 350,000 people. A campaign Let’s Sing the Anthem Together was held near the Minsk Hero City monument in the evening. It was followed by fireworks.

The police, Emergencies Ministry, ambulance service and road police were put on the alert on this day. They made sure there were no threats to public security or major offenses and transgressions.
